The One-for-One Veteran Memorial Program

One cleaning. One veteran honored.

For every paid cleaning we complete, one veteran's memorial is cleaned free of charge. It is one for one, matched against work families actually paid for, and it has run since the day this company started charging for a cleaning.

Veterans honored to date

The running total is updated by hand from completed work, not estimated. It appears here once the count has been reconciled — we would rather show nothing than a number we made up.

Every figure on this page comes from finished jobs with photographs attached. There is no projection, no rounding up, and no lifetime-to-date arithmetic.

How it works

  1. A family books and pays for a cleaning at $80 per stone.
  2. The crew cleans that stone.
  3. Before leaving, they clean a veteran's memorial in the same cemetery, free of charge.
  4. If every veteran's memorial in that cemetery is already cared for, the one that is owed carries forward to the next cemetery on the route.

Cemetery rules and family wishes come first, so we work with the cemetery office on which memorials need care.

What it costs you

Nothing. Cleaning is $80 per stone whether this program exists or not.

  • It is not funded by a surcharge added to your price.
  • It is not a discount, and it is not a donation drive.
  • We will never ask you to contribute to it.
  • There is nothing to opt into. Booking a cleaning is the only thing that sets one in motion.

Why we can afford it

The honest answer is that the drive is the expensive part of a headstone cleaning, and your booking already paid for it. Once the truck is parked, the solution is mixed, and the brushes are out, a second stone costs time rather than another trip across the county. That is the whole economics of it. We would rather spend that half hour on a veteran's memorial than drive home early.

Veterans' memorials get the identical method: biological cleaners, water, and soft brushes. No bleach, no acids, no pressure washing, no wire brushes. That is also what the VA requires for the government-furnished markers it still owns, which remain federal property.

Questions we get

Can I choose which veteran?

Not through the booking form — the memorial is chosen at the cemetery with the office. If there is a particular grave on your mind, call 586-404-5869 and we will talk about it.

Are you a charity?

No. Mastermind Creation Co. is a for-profit memorial company. We make and set custom monuments, we clean and reset stones, and this program is something the business does with its own time rather than something it fundraises for.

Do you post proof?

Before and after photographs of the day's work, including the veteran's memorial, go up on our Facebook and TikTok.

One booking starts one.

Book a cleaning for someone in your family and a veteran's memorial in the same cemetery gets cleaned the same afternoon.

$80 per stone. Professional biological cleaning, safe soft-brush methods, light trimming and edging where appropriate, before and after photos, and participation in this program.
